There were constant lines of penguins going back and forth between the burrows and the ocean. This little cutie had found himself a nest in the kelp which had washed up on shore, and nothing was going to move him off it! This small chick is obviously in the molting stage, but was much smaller than his contemporaries. He just looked like an orphin, though in other pictures you can see he had a nice, round belly. Most of the time, this molting adult looked composed and serene, even though you knew he had to be itching. But sometimes, he just had to give me a look. And out they hop from the gulley A lone penguin trying to figure out how to get back to his burrow. They didn't have to stand to call.
